1 About the ChinaXiv

1.1 What is ChinaXiv?

  预印本（preprint）是作者在提交期刊出版前未经严格同行评议的手稿（投稿版、录用稿），经过初步的评议审核后，即借助于预印本平台在最短的时间内以开放获取的形式发布，为作者获得最新研究成果的网络首发权，为学术交流系统提供最新、最快速的研究成果传播与利用渠道。
  预印本平台是接收作者提交预印本论文手稿并为这些论文手稿提供开放学术交流服务的平台系统。预印本平台也可以发布论文的期刊最终稿或发排版，即后印本（postprint）。预印本平台是一种钻石开放获取模式，既不向作者收费，也不向读者收费，是一种由政府和社会提供政策、经费和其它多种支持的公益性服务机制。国内外知名的预印本平台有美国康奈尔大学图书馆建设维护的arXiv和中国科学院文献情报中心建设维护的“中国科学院科技论文预发布平台（ChinaXiv）”。

2 How to register

2.1 How to register the institutional mailbox (end of ac.cn and edu.cn)

2.1.1 How to register with Chinese Academy of Sciences mailbox (ac.cn)?

  CAS users do not need to register, they can use the Chinese Academy of Sciences mailbox and password to log in to the ChinaXiv platform, and can directly submit papers without user authentication.

2.1.2 How to register with non-Chinese Academy of Sciences mailbox (edu.cn)?

  Click the "Register" button at the top right of the homepage to jump to the China Science and Technology Cloud Pass registration page, fill in the relevant information and register successfully, complete the account verification according to the prompts, you can use this registered account and password to log in to the chinaXiv platform. If you want to submit a paper, please You need to wait for the system administrator to pass the authentication before you can operate.

2.2 How to register and obtain identity verification by personal email?

  Click the "Register" button at the top right of the homepage to jump to the China Science and Technology Cloud Pass registration page, fill in the relevant information and register successfully, complete the account verification according to the prompts, you can use this registered account and password to log in to the chinaXiv platform. Only after the background system administrator has passed the user authentication, the "Submit Paper" related operations can be performed.

2.3 How do I get an individual's OCRID?

  If the user does not have his own ORCID, please go to iauthor.las.ac.cn to register and apply for an ORCID number. If you already have one, make sure to fill in your email address in the "MyCenter" option on the "My info" page, and click "Query ORCID" button.

2.4 How to perform mobile phone authentication?

  Enter the "MyCenter" page according to the prompt information at "Current Location", select the "My info" option, and complete the mobile phone authentication according to the prompt on the right.

2.5 How to change personal information?

  Please go to "My info" in "MyCenter" to modify basic personal information. If you need to modify the registered email address, please contact the administrator and send your email address before and after the change to eprint@mail.las.ac.cn; if you need to modify the bound mobile phone number, you only need to enter it in "My info" Your new mobile phone number, and enter the SMS verification code for verification.

3 How to use the ChinaXiv

3.1 What open license agreements does the ChinaXiv offer?

3.2 Thesis template and specification requirements?

  Thesis submitters and paper reviewers must follow ChinaXiv's 《Thesis Templates and Specifications》

3.3 What file formats are supported for uploading Thesis?

3.4 What submission methods does the platform offer?

  Single online submission: Registered users can submit a single paper according to the system prompts and steps after logging in.
  Batch online submission: Users who need to submit papers in batches need to save the papers in PDF, and send the papers, license agreement, and identification materials to the chinaXiv staff mailbox (eprint@mail.las.ac.cn), the platform will automatically send an email notification to the user.

3.5 How to get ChinaXivID after submit?

  Paper submission once submitted successfully,ChinaXiv will automatically assign a temporary ID number to it,The official ChinaXivID can only be obtained after the paper has passed the review.

3.6 How to cite papers on the ChinaXiv?

  When citing a ChinaXiv paper, you can directly cite the ChinaXivID number. An example of the recommended citation format: Zhuang Fuzhen, He Qing. Research Progress in Transfer Learning. [ChinaXiv:201605.00569].

3.7 How to update the paper?

  Find the paper that needs to be updated in "My Papers" in "MyCenter", and click the "Update" icon to update the paper version. At the same time, related operations such as modification of paper information can be directly performed.

3.8 How to relate to official publications?

  Find the paper you want to associate in "My Papers" in "MyCenter", and click the "Associated" icon to associate the paper.

3.9 How do I withdraw a submitted paper?

  If your paper is under review, you can delete the paper directly in "My Submissions" of "MyCenter"; if your paper has been reviewed and published, you need to contact the administrator to withdraw it.

4 Cooperative journals

4.1 Which journals does ChinaXiv cooperate with? What is the cooperation content?

  ChinaXiv has reached cooperation agreements with more than 20 journals such as the Proceedings of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Journal of Ecology. For papers submitted by readers on the pre-release platform, we will give priority to recommending manuscripts to cooperative journals in related fields; Manuscripts, we will be the first to display on the ChinaXiv platform in advance to expand the influence of the paper.

4.2 What is the relationship between submitting manuscripts on ChinaXiv platform and partner journals?

  After publishing your paper on ChinaXiv, the cooperative journals will give priority to accepting your manuscript. The ChinaXiv will regularly recommend preprinted papers in related fields, high traffic, and high downloads on the platform to excellent journals for selection by cooperative journals.at the same time, cooperative journals can directly log in to the ChinaXiv background to search for paper selections.

5 other problems

5.1 Can't upload the paper?

  First, confirm whether the file format is in the prescribed thesis format.secondly, check whether the network connection is normal and whether the network environment is good, which may cause the network response to be slow.thirdly, use other browsers to upload the paper to prevent some browsers from rejecting the request operation.finally, after the above check operation, still can not upload, please contact us and send the details to eprint@mail.las.ac.cn, so that we can deal with your problem in time.

5.2 How to deal with the rejection of the paper review?

  Check the paper to ensure that the paper is free of the following problems: irregular format; repetitive paper; plagiarized paper; non-research paper. Then submit again and wait for review.
