Abstract: The inhibition performance of cetyldimethylethylammonium bromide (CDAB) for Q235 steel in sulphuric acid solution at 25 ℃ was evaluated by static weight loss methods, potentiodynamic polarization curve and electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The results revealed that the inhibition efficiency was found to increase with the increase of CDAB concentration; the inhibition efficiency was up to 85.07% when the concentration of CDAB was only 10 mg·L-1; the CDAB was a mix-type inhibitor which mainly inhibited anodic process, moreover, the corrosion inhibition performances evaluated respectively by the static weight loss method, the potentiodynamic polarization curve and EIS were almost consistent. The adsorption of CDAB on Q235 steel surface followed the Kastening- Holleck's adsorption isotherm. The activation energy of corrosion reaction was significantly increased by the addion of CDAB, which indicated that the process of corrosion reaction was effectively inhibited.

Abstract: To improve the over sedimentation of fillers, the poor adhesive strength and wear resistance of ceramic/epoxy (EP) composite coating, SiO2 powder with particle size of 5~50 μm was sprayed on the surface of liquid epoxy coating to let the particles settling naturally in the coating. The graded SiO2/EP composite coating was prepared by controlling the curing temperature and time and thereby the sedimentation depth of the SiO2 particles of different sizes. It follows that the adhesive strength and wear resistance of the SiO2/EP composite coating prepared by the new process is higher than that prepared by the traditional blending method.

Abstract: The influence of the ethylene glycol concentration, temperature and the ratio of cathodeto-anode area on galvanic corrosion of two couples of 3A21 Al-alloy/H62 brass (Al/Cu) and 3A21 Al- alloy/304 stainless steel (Al/SS) was studied in ethylene glycol- water solutions by means of electrochemical methods. Then the localized corrosion morphology of 3A21 alloy, which was the anode in the two galvanic couples, was examined by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results showed that the average galvanic current densities (Ig) of the two couples Al/Cu and Al/SS decreased with the increasing ethylene glycol concentration, but increased with the rising temperature and ratio of cathode- to- anode area. Although the galvanic couples of Al/Cu and Al/SS exhibited similar corrosion behavior, the ig of galvanic couple Al/Cu was greater than that of the couple Al/SS under the same test condition.
