Abstract: This paper create a cellular automaton mode to explore the effects of different lane allocation schemes in the weaving area on the system. Based on the NS cellular automaton model for three different lane area defined three lane changing rules for weaving area of cellular automaton model. There have already been carried out numerical simulation and analysis of two lane allocation in weaving area. The results show that when the flow rate is low, no significant difference between the two measures of effect; when the flow rate is high, with travel time will reduce the system congestion and each set of vehicles to isolation. When the length of the weaving zone is within a certain value, the effect of isolating belt is better. With the increase of weaving area length, the optimization effect of isolation belt is becoming smaller and smaller. Weaving area over this length, the two measures almost the same effect.
