摘要: Merging supermassive black hole binaries is expected as a possible consequence of galaxy mergers, yet the detailed evolution path and underlying mechanisms of these binaries are still subject to large theoretical uncertainties. In this work, we propose to combine the (future) gravitational wave measurements of supermassive black hole binary merger events with the galaxy merger rate distributions from large-scale surveys/cosmological simulations, to infer the delay time of binary mergers, as a function of binary mass. The delay time encodes key information about binary evolution, which can be used to test the predictions of various evolution models. With a mock data set of supermassive black hole binary merger events, we discuss how to infer the distribution of delay time with hierarchical Bayesian inference and test evolution models with the Bayesian model selection method.

摘要: In this letter we calculate the gravitational waves (GWs) emitted from a small binary (SB) by solving the Teukolsky equation in the background of a massive exotic compact object (ECO) which is phenomenologically described by a Schwarzschild geometry with a reflective boundary condition at its "would-be" horizon. The "continuous echo" waves propagating to infinity due to reflectivity of ECO at its "would-be" horizon provide an exquisite probe to the nature of the ECO's horizon.

摘要: The New Vacuum Solar Telescope (NVST) has been releasing its novel winged Ha data (WHD) since April 2021, namely the Ha imaging spectroscopic data. Compared with the prior released version, the new data are further co-aligned among the off-band images and packaged into a standard solar physics community format. In this study, we illustrate the alignment algorithm used by the novel WHD, which is mainly based on the optical flow method to obtain the translation offset between the winged images. To quantitatively evaluate the alignment results of two images with different similarities, we calculate the alignment accuracies between the images of different off-band and line center, respectively. The result shows that our alignment algorithm could reach up to the accuracy of about 0.1 "when the off-band of winged image is lower than 0.6 \.A. In addition, we introduce the final product of the WHD in detail, which can provide convenience for the solar physicists to use high-resolution H{\alpha} imaging spectroscopic data of NVST.

摘要: In 2016, an exposure meter was installed on the Lijiang Fiber-fed High-Resolution Spectrograph to monitor the coupling of starlight to the science fiber during observations. Based on it, we investigated a method to estimate the exposure flux of the CCD in real time by using the counts of the photomultiplier tubes (PMT) of the exposure meter, and developed a piece of software to optimize the control of the exposure time. First, by using flat-field lamp observations, we determined that there is a linear and proportional relationship between the total counts of the PMT and the exposure flux of the CCD. Second, using historical observations of different spectral types, the corresponding relational conversion factors were determined and obtained separately. Third, the method was validated using actual observation data, which showed that all values of the coefficient of determination were greater than 0.92. Finally, software was developed to display the counts of the PMT and the estimated exposure flux of the CCD in real-time during the observation, providing a visual reference for optimizing the exposure time control.
