  • Comprehensive atmospheric and environmental observations in the Himalayan region advances development of Earth system science on the Tibetan Plateau

    Abstract: The Himalayan region, represented by Mount Qomolangma, is not only a typical area where special atmospheric processes on the Tibetan Plateau (TP) are concentrated, but also an important research area for climate, ecology, and environmental changes. The Qomolangma Station for Atmospheric and Environmental Observation and Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (abbreviated as QOMS) is located in the core area of Mount Qomolangma National Nature Reserve. It is dedicated to studying the complex terrain mountain atmospheric processes and environmental changes of the Third Pole of the Earth, focusing on the land-atmosphere interaction process on the TP under the background of climate change. Based on long-term positioning monitoring and field scientific observations of surface, atmosphere, environment, glaciers, ecology, and geophysical processes, a comprehensive land-atmosphere interaction observation system over the TP represented by QOMS has been developed and designed. Key parameters of surface features that influence the material and energy exchange between land and atmosphere in this region have been identified. The interaction processes between complex mountainous terrain of the plateau and the westerly large-scale atmospheric circulation and its impact on the development of the atmospheric boundary layer have been revealed. Remote sensing inversion algorithms and parameterization schemes for estimating surface energy fluxes in the region have been developed and verified, and a theory of pointface combination for satellite remote sensing inversion of complex land surface water and heat flux on the TP has been established. The establishment of the multi-time and space, multi-means, high-precision, and multi-element integrated observation platform has significantly improved the meteorological observation capabilities of the TP, especially in the Qomolangma region. It not only provides basic data for in-depth systematized research on the Earth system of the TP, but also makes up for long-term observation deficiencies on the plateau and has made QOMS an irreplaceable base for global Earth system science research in the Himalayan region, providing a support platform for understanding the role of the TP in global change and its response to global change.

  • Investigation and Comparative Analysis of Institutional Repository in Chinese Scientific Research Institutions and Universities

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] At the important node of IR development entering a stable period and in the transition to the next generation of IR, this paper reviews the construction process, status quo and challenges of institutional repository in China, so as to achieve the purpose of accelerating and deepening the development of IR in China. [Method/process] First, it adopts the empirical research method combining the network survey method and telephone and email survey methods, and takes domestic universities, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and other scientific research institutes as the survey object to investigate the development status of the national IR; second, the survey results According to the comparative analysis of the university system, scientific research system and the overall situation, summarize the IR development achievements and problems. [Result/conclusion] Some achievements have been made in IR construction. The number of IR under construction and to be built is increasing, and the resource scale is increasing greatly. However, there are some problems in the development of IR, such as imperfect management policies, excessive access restrictions, unclear intellectual property rights, insufficient openness and low self storage rate.

    Abstract: In order to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech on strengthening the comprehensive control of desertification and promoting key ecological engineering projects such as the “Three-North Shelterbelt Program”, this study is designated to make concrete efforts to win the battle against desertification on the edge of Hexi Corridor–Taklimakan Desert. The study deeply explores the situation of wind-blown sand flux and prevention tasks in the area. Based on the characteristics of desertified land and wind-blown sand activities on the edge of Hexi Corridor–Taklimakan Desert, the goal is set to effectively prevent the spread of sand and control dust sources. The core focus is on wind prevention, sand resistance, and dust control. The strategic thinking has been formulated for the counterattack battle on the edge of Hexi Corridor–Taklimakan Desert. By systematically analyzing the source areas and paths of “wind, sand, and dust” and targeting the key zones of the desert edge and areas requiring prevention, the key areas and tasks are proposed for desertification control on the edge of the Hexi Corridor–Taklimakan Desert, so as to provide scientific and technological support for winning the battle against desertification on the edge of Hexi Corridor–Taklimakan Desert.

    Abstract: The main responsibility of the national strategic scientific and technological force is to focus on national strategic needs, refine key scientific problems in basic research, and gather resources to conduct original and leading scientific and technological research. The dual carbon goal is an internal requirement to implement the new development concept, construct a new development pattern, and promote high-quality development. It is a major strategic decision made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in current domestic and international situations. We take the carbon neutrality major consulting project, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), as a specific case, summarize the methods and experiences of refining the key scientific issues of dual carbon oriented towards national strategic needs. We focus on the key technology demands of dual carbon, organize a multidisciplinary and collaborative team of experts, conduct systematic organization and in-depth research, widely absorb expert opinions and previous achievements, adhere to a problem-oriented approach, strengthen data support, ensure comprehensive and objective consultation views with strong pertinence, emphasize the decision support objectives, and adopt multiple measures to expand the application of consulting research results, providing reference for the practical application of carbon neutrality technology research and scientific organization and management in China.

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] The paper aims to analyze the problems and countermeasures of domestic social media for Altmetrics evaluation of academic achievements, so as to promote the Altmetrics evaluation of domestic academic results.[Method/process] Literature review was adopted to sort out the current research status of domestic and foreign social media for Altmetrics evaluation of academic achievements.[Result/conclusion] Domestic social media for Altmetrics evaluation of academic results has six shortcomings:lack of data foundation, lack of exploration of data sources and indicators, lack of empirical study of correlation between indicators and the influencing factors of indicators, lack of research on the deep meaning of Altmetrics indicators, lack of development of Altmetrics analysis tools, and lack of theoretical support.

  • A Statistical Analysis of Literature on Term Extraction Based on Machine Learning

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] The purpose of this paper is to sort out and summarize the relevant content of the automatic term extraction research based on machine learning, and to provide a reference for related personnel in the field. [Method/process] Firstly, this paper applied literature measurement to conduct a macro analysis of the subject's annual trends and core institutions based on the analysis tools of CNKI and EndNote, then it carried out the subject analysis from 3 aspects:extraction of technical methods, data sets and evaluation, and application. [Result/conclusion] In recent years, term extraction research has made great progress, and is the basic work in the fields of knowledge systems, natural language processing, and information analysis. With the rapid development of natural language processing, extraction technology has begun to develop in the direction of deep learning, but the basic theoretical system of term extraction still needs to be improved, such as evaluation indicators, corpus selection and effect evaluation methods.

  • Research on Identification Methods of Emerging Technologies

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] The paper systematically analyzes the identification methods of emerging technologies at home and abroad, then summarizes research status and analyzes existing problems to provide reference for future research on identification methods of emerging technologies.[Method/process] On the basis of literature research and bibliometric analysis, this paper summarized the current mainstream identification methods of emerging technologies and analyzed its characteristics and its impact on the research of identification methods of emerging technologies combined with typical cases, then proposed suggestions for future research on identification methods of emerging technologies.[Result/conclusion] The current identification methods of emerging technologies conclude quantitative methods and qualitative methods. The common identification methods of emerging technologies are mainly based on measurement models, bibliometrics and text mining methods, and they are increasingly inclined to be multi-method fusion. However, there are still some deficiencies in the research. Future research on identification methods of emerging technologies should strengthen the exploration of the essential characteristics of emerging technologies, and strengthen the interpretation of specific identification methods to emerging technologies, and promote the timeliness of identification of emerging technologies from data sources and identification methods as well as Strengthen the exploration of effective fusion methods and application methods of multi-source data in the identification of emerging technologies.

  • Identify Sleeping Beauties in Science by Coefficient of Variation

    Abstract: [Purpose/significance] This paper aims to review existing identification methods of sleeping beauties in science, discuss strengths and weaknesses of different kinds of methods, and put forward a brand-new method for identifying sleeping papers. [Method/process] This study is based on the Bcp index, which is a well-developed and accurate method for identifying sleeping beauties in science. Through referring to the core idea of using the "dispersion degree" of citation curve for identification, the concept of "coefficient of variation" in statistics is introduced to the new method. Then the PCV index is proposed to identify various citation curves, sleeping beauties in particular. [Result/conclusion] As is shown in the results, PCV index can effectively identify the sleeping beauties literature. In addition, compared to the Bcp index, the new method has the advantages of simplicity and accuracy, and further reduces the dependence on the total number of citations.

  • 沙坡头区直插式根灌条件下土壤水分变化分析

    Abstract:为提高沙坡头地区造林过程中的水分利用效率, 制定最优化的灌溉制度, 在宁夏中卫沙坡头自然保护区, 两年生固沙梭梭(Haloxy lonammodendron)林展开直插式根灌节水试验, 分析和模拟直插式根灌过程中土壤水分入渗和消退规律。结果表明: 1)直插式根灌过程中, 土壤含水量随灌水时间的变化符合Logistic 曲线变化; 停灌后, 土壤水分消退规律符合幂函数模型变化。2)本试验条件下, 不同土层土壤水分最大入渗速率依次为60 cm>40 cm>80 cm>100 cm>20 cm, 达到最大入渗速率的时间40 cm 土层最短, 平均为1.22 h, 100 cm 土层最长, 平均为4.57 h; 1 m 深土层土壤水分最大入渗速率平均为1.65%·h1, 达到最大入渗速率的时间平均为2.16 h。3)根据模拟结果, 建议沙坡头区梭梭林直插式根灌灌溉周期为4 d 左右, 单次灌水时间以6~10 h 为宜。4)停灌2 h 后, 各土层土壤含水量消退速率随土层深度增加而增大, 停灌后48 h, 各土层土壤水分消退速率基本为零; 梭梭全生长期, 1 m深土层土壤水分消退速率在结实期最大, 为2.20%·h1, 休眠期最小, 为1.31%·h1。5)直插式根灌对20 cm 土层土壤水分的影响最小, 对60 cm 土层土壤水分影响最大; 灌溉过程中, 土壤水分等值线以60 cm 土层等值线为中心, 向表层和深层土壤辐射状分布, 灌后各土层平均土壤含水量, 20 cm 和60 cm土层与其他各土层之间差异显著(P<0.05)。研究表明, 直插式根灌的土壤水分入渗规律符合Logistic 曲线变化,消退规律符合幂函数曲线变化, 直插式根灌对20 cm 土层土壤水分的影响最小, 对60 cm 土层土壤水分影响最大, 沙坡头区梭梭林直插式根灌灌溉周期为4 d 左右, 单次灌水时间以6~10 h 为宜。
