  • Analysis of Logical Defects in Null Hypothesis Significance Test and p Value Calculation

Subjects: Management Science >> Other Disciplines of Management Science submitted time 2024-05-26

Abstract: The misuse and abuse of NHST (null hypothesis significance test) and p value are quite serious in scientific research. NHST is a hybrid of Fisher’s significance test and N-P hypothesis test. But how is it mingled and how is it reflected in the calculation steps? Where are the logical flaws in NHST and p value calculations? There are no detailed and simple answers to these questions. Expounding, analyzing and comparing the steps of Fisher’s significance test, N-P hypothesis test and NHST clearly, combined with a typical example for the logical defect analysis of NHST and p-value calculations, can provide some inspiration for the empirical researchers who are not deeply involved in the field of statistics.

  • Virtual community: concept discrimination and characteristics analysis and classification discussion

Subjects: Management Science >> Management Theory submitted time 2023-04-18

Abstract: Purpose/Significance Clarifying its origin, development context, and related concepts will be more explicit about this research object and improve the scientific and rigorous of its interrelated research. Methodology/Process Firstly, this article uses the historical research method and conceptual analysis method to sort out the emergence and development of its concept.; Secondly, the comparative research method is used to distinguish its relevant concepts; Finally, based on its previous research and current state of practice, This article conducts a taxonomic study of virtual communities Results/Conclusions The study shows that different Chinese translations of virtual communities correspond to the same research subjects, and online communities, web communities and e-communities are all replacement concepts for virtual communities. Virtual communities consist of six core components and four basic characteristics, and can be classified into four categories according to their main functions: interest communities, social communities, trading communities and knowledge communities, each of which has unique characteristics in terms of member motivation, regulation, culture, information interaction patterns and common value creation patterns.

  • Strategic Thinking on China’s Food System Transition from Perspective of Sustainable Development Goals

Subjects: Other Disciplines >> Synthetic discipline submitted time 2023-03-28 Cooperative journals: 《中国科学院院刊》

Abstract: Food system is the foundation of human society, thus the sustainable transition of food system is one of the key topics towards global sustainability. Facing the global climate crisis, regional conflict, and pandemic that unseen in a century, it becomes critical to build a sustainable food system in line with the Chinese context for ensuring its grain and food security, national nutrition and health, social justice, ecological balance, market effectiveness, and system resilience. To address these focuses, this study analyzed the main issues and challenges faced by China’s current food system, and decoded the relationship between food system and sustainable development goals of the United Nations from supply, demand, and security guarantee mechanism perspectives. Based on these, this study developed a conceptual framework for sustainable food system from life cycle, global, and system perspectives. This study further identified six key dimensions, including security, health, justice, greenness, economy, and resilience, for constructing the strategic framework of China’s sustainable food system, and proposed paths ahead for implementation. We hope to provide some system reflections on how to ensure China’s food security in the new era and further to contribute to sustainable global food system transition with Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions.

  • Research on the Influencing Factors of Medical and Health Big Data Assetization from the Perspective of Data Life Cycle: An Empirical Analysis Based on Fuzzy-DEMATEL-ISM Method

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Information Processing submitted time 2023-01-12

    Abstract:

Purpose/Significance The current slow progress of medical and health data assetization at home and abroad has seriously affected the implementation of the national medical and health big data strategy and industrial development. It is important to find out the key influencing factors affecting medical and health big data assetization and propose targeted countermeasures to tap the potential value of medical and health big data. Method/Process Firstly, based on the combination of literature analysis and expert interview, this paper identifies the influencing factors of medical and health big data assetization. Then, based on Fuzzy-DEMATEL-ISM method, the factor ranking and the association relationships among factors are identified. Finally, based on the analysis results of influencing factors, the promotion strategies of medical and health big data assetization are proposed. Result/Conclusion The study finds that medical and health data assetization is affected by 23 factors from 6 dimensions, including data acquisition, data storage, data processing, data management, data application and related environment. Among them, four factors, such as data sharing and data trading, are the most direct influencing factors of medical and health big data assetization; 11 factors, such as standard management and privacy protection, are the key factors connecting the bottom and top layers; 8 factors, such as technical support and data integration, are the root influencing factors of medical and health big data assetization. Based on the research conclusion, suggestions are put forward to promote medical and health big data assetization from 5 dimensions of the life cycle of medical and health big data around the related environment.
