• A Study on the Identification Method of Paper Innovation Based on Mutation Index

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Information Science submitted time 2024-04-18

Abstract: Purpose/Significance The aim is to construct a mutation index to measure the innovation of academic papers, providing a reference for improving the evaluation system of academic paper innovation. Method/Process A large language model (LLM), Mistral-openorca, is utilized to extract the research questions and methods from papers. The mutation index is constructed based on two dimensions: the similarity of research questions and methods to existing studies, and the extent to which they stimulate subsequent research. Result/Conclusion Papers with high innovation scores generally have a higher citation frequency; among the top 10 ranked papers by innovation, seven introduced original methods or tools, whereas papers in the bottom 10 ranked by innovation had more mature research topics and methods at the time of publication, with lower levels of innovation; the correlation coefficient between the innovation score of the papers and their citation frequency is 0.530, and empirical research results further confirm the effectiveness of the mutation index proposed in this paper in measuring the innovation of academic papers.

  • Research on the Relationship between the Diversity of Academic Disciplines in References and the Citations

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Information Processing submitted time 2024-04-18

Abstract: Abstract: Purpose/Significance The paper constructs the index of the discipline diversity of the paper reference, and explores the relationship between the discipline diversity of the paper reference and the citations. Method/Process The reference discipline diversity measurement index was designed based on the Rao-Stirling diversity index, and 15 variables including the reference discipline diversity of the paper were taken as the independent variable, the citation of the paper as the dependent variable, and the journal rank as the control variable. The regression model was generated by fitting the ordinary least square method. This paper discusses the relationship between the subject diversity of the paper references and the citation frequency. Result/Conclusion The index of reference diversity constructed by this research can reflect the degree of multidisciplinary knowledge integration of the paper. The diversity of the reference disciplines positively affects the citation frequency of the paper. The stronger the diversity of the reference disciplines, the higher the citation of the paper.

  • A “scenario-problem-method” research framework for altmetrics oriented to multidimensional applications

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Information Science submitted time 2024-02-08

Abstract: [Objective] Altmetrics analysis has been widely recognized and used, but many in China limit it to the perspective of scientific evaluation, ignoring the broad application scenarios of altmetrics. By constructing a three-dimensional research framework of "scenario-problem-method" for altmetrics, this article aims to enrich the research design of altmetrics analysis and promote the healthy and sustainable development of altmetrics. [Methods] Based on the characteristics of altmetrics and the mature frameworks in science of science as well as informetrics, a research framework is proposed. [Results] The application scenarios of altmetrics analysis are summarized into scientific evaluation, scientific communication and knowledge diffusion. Specifically, indicator application, influencing factors and indicator construction are proposed for scientific evaluation scenarios. Communication strategies, communication structures, communication trends, as well as science and social interaction are proposed for scientific communication scenarios. And research questions in knowledge diffusion include diffusion strategy, diffusion structure and diffusion effect. And we combine three key analysis methods of causal inference, network analysis and machine learning to explain each research design corresponding to the problem. [Conclusions] The research framework proposed in this article is conducive to promoting altmetrics to enter the connotative development stage.

  • A study on the measurement of International dissemination capability and Enhancement strategies of English academic journals in China

Subjects: Digital Publishing >> Internet Journals submitted time 2024-01-26

Abstract: Abstract: Purposes  To measure the international dissemination capacity of Chinese English academic journals, to provide decision-making support for improving the international influence of Chinese journals and enhancing the power of international academic discourse. Methods  We construct the indicators of breadth, intensity and speed of dissemination to measure the international dissemination ability of Chinese English academic journals, and use statistical analysis and non-parametric tests to reveal the dissemination characteristics of papers in various disciplines. Results  It is found that there are significant differences in the overall distribution of dissemination breadth, dissemination intensity and dissemination speed of journal papers in different disciplines. In the field of natural science and engineering technology, the dissemination strength of papers in engineering science and technology, basic science and medicine and health science and technology is significantly better than that of journal papers in other disciplines; in the field of humanities and social sciences, the Journal of Sport and Health Science stands out.  Conclusion  The dissemination power of Chinese English academic journals can be further improved by exploring hot topics in various disciplines, strengthening the construction, publicity and promotion of journals, advancing the implementation of a series of development action plans, increasing the support for journals in the humanities and social sciences (in English), encouraging scientific researchers to participate in science communication, and improving the skills of communication in social media.

  • Digital Storytelling Framework for Red Character Resources and Its Empirical Research

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Library Science submitted time 2023-07-20

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Digital Storytelling as a kind of online narrative is conducive to enhancing the interpretability and human-computer interactivity of red people's resources, which provides the possibility of optimizing the intellectual development of red people's resources. [Method/process] On the basis of combing the knowledge-based development of historical character resources and the research related to red characters, the basic framework of digital storytelling of red character resources composed of narrative resource integration layer, narrative element extraction layer and narrative work generation layer is proposed, and then the knowledge mapping as a narrative tool is used as an example for empirical research on the "Red Characters of Western Anhui Province". [Results/conclusion] The digital storytelling framework of red people's resources can improve the current limitations of designing semantic association of entities mainly based on the "content" and "external" levels of red people's resources, and form an operable structural process, which provides reference for the development of red people's resources' knowledge; compared with the traditional manual extraction and rule-matching knowledge extraction, the ternary batch extraction mode based on ontology and BERT model improves the efficiency of red people's resources' knowledge extraction; and with the help of the knowledge mapping to achieve the red people's resources' visualization and knowledge discovery of thematic narratives, it proves the value of the application of digital storytelling in the red people's resources' knowledge development and organization.

  • Research on the Integrated Ontology Model Construction of Cultural Heritage

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Library Science submitted time 2023-03-10

Abstract: Purpose/Significance Cultural heritage is an important carrier of ceaseless Chinese context, and its semantic organi-zation is the due meaning of national cultural digitization strategy. Cultural heritage includes material cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage. Building an integrated ontology model is conducive to promoting knowledge interconnection among cultural heritage. Ontology provides a standardized scheme for the content and form of knowledge entities, and is a knowledge model for the semantic organization of cultural heritage. Method/Process The metadata scheme, on-tology of cultural heritage and its related resources are systematically investigated, and draws on Schema.org model. The integrated knowledge model suitable for cultural heritage and spe-cific resource types is constructed, from the three levels of common characteristics, general characteristics and unique personality of cultural heritage. Result/Conclusion This paper defines the above model in strict accordance with the rules of ontology grammar, and provides open reuse in the ontology service center. At the same time, based on the release of the above model, the general process of domain knowledge ontology release is discussed, in order to provide ideas for the semantic de
