Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Information Science submitted time 2024-04-03 Cooperative journals: 《农业图书情报学报》

Abstract: Purpose/Significance With the development of the Internet and the popularization of smart devices, the scale of social media users around the world is increasing, and social media has become the center of people’s communication, but it also produces a series of negative problems. Digital stress refers to the painful subjective experience of users caused by different stressors in the process of heavy use of social media. At present, most studies on social media focus on users’ social media behaviors. In recent years, digital stress has gradually attracted the attention of researchers. However, most studies discuss the impact of single variables on results from the perspective of linear regression, and few studies focus on the complex mechanism behind digital stress. This study aims to explore the influencing factors and mechanism of social media users’ digital stress in order to further understand the path of digital stress and provide reference for relieving users’ digital stress. Method/Process This paper adopted a mixed research method combining grounded theory and qualitative comparative analysis. First, 21 users were selected as interview objects, interview data were coded, and theoretical models were constructed. Second, a questionnaire was designed according to the theoretical model and 262 questionnaires were collected. The fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) method was used to analyze the questionnaire data and explore the formation path of social media users’ digital stress. Results/Conclusions There were 9 influencing factors of social media users’ digital stress: overuse, technology intrusion, information overload, communication load, fear of missing out, approval anxiety, social expectation, digital coping skills and self-control. They were classified into four dimensions: technology, social, environment and personal characteristics. There are six paths that trigger digital stress, among which overuse and fear of missing out are the key factors leading to high-level digital stress, technology intrusion and information overload are the important conditions for digital stress, and digital coping skills and self-control have no significant effects. At the same time, this paper has some limitations. First, the end point and result variable of this paper is the digital pressure of social media users, focusing on the factors that affect the generation of digital pressure and how the combination of factors and variables ultimately leads to the generation of results. Less attention is paid to user behavior. Although some attention is paid in the interview, antecedent variables are emphasized in the analysis. Future studies can take users’ social media usage behavior into consideration to explore the whole process formation mechanism of influencing factors-digital pressure-user behavior. In addition, most of the research samples are young users of social media, and users of other age groups are less involved. In the future, the research samples should be further expanded to improve the universality of the research conclusions.

  • Research on the Construction of Service Capability Evaluation Index System for Scientific and Technical Consulting Agencies

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Library Science submitted time 2023-10-08 Cooperative journals: 《知识管理论坛》

Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] To construct an index system for evaluating the service capability of scientific and technical consulting agencies, with a view to scientifically and comprehensively evaluating the service capability of China’s science and technology consulting organizations and promoting their benign development. [Method/Process] Based on sorting out the influencing factors and characteristics of service capability, the service capability evaluation indexes were screened and established using the Delphi method, and the weights of the evaluation indexes were calculated using the hierarchical analysis method. [Result/ Conclusion] This study constructed a set of evaluation index system of service capability of scientific and technical consulting agencies, including 2 dimensions of service resources, service performance, 7 first-level indexes and 18 second-level indexes.

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] iConference is an important international conference in information science. By combing and summarizing the accepted paper in iConference 2019, this paper aims to provide reference for future related search in information science.[Method/process] From the four dimensions of research method, research topic, research process and research finding, this paper summarized reviewed 77 accepted paper on 24 themes in iConference 2019.[Result/conclusion] As the annual conference of iSchool, iConference's topic covers the latest achievements of theoretical research and application in the field of information science. From the accepted paper, we find that the data-driven research paradigm provides an opportunity for the integration and development of information science and other disciplines, and promotes libraries and information disciplines to discover research problems in the new research scenarios; semi-structured interviews, questionnaires, grounded theory, statistical analysis and other qualitative and quantitative methods are the main research methods; research data acquisition is an extremely important research process.

  • An Exploratory Posts Detecting Method for MOOC Forums Based on Deep Learning

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Library Science submitted time 2023-07-26 Cooperative journals: 《图书情报工作》

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) forum is an important source to acquire user review data. Automatically detecting exploratory dialogues with high knowledge density from large amounts of unlabeled data and mining its potential value has a significant impact on the improvement of teaching quality and students’ mastery of knowledge. [Method/process] We proposed a new auto-detecting model based on deep learning, which firstly uses GloVe algorithm to train word embedding to reinforce semantic understanding for texts and then adopts Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to automatically learn text features and make classifications on exploratory dialogues. An empirical and comparative study was done on the annotated dataset from the online course Introduction to Psychology on the platform of Xuetang. [Result/conclusion] Experiment result shows that using the word embedding pretrained by GloVe and fine tune it while training can improve the performance of our model. Our model gets the F1 score of 0.94, which is greatly improved compared with Naive Bayes model (0.88), Logistic Regression model (0.89), Decision Tree model (0.88) and Random Forest model (0.88) and exhibits great practicality with low learning costs.

  • Review on the Factors of Using Intention in Digital Library

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Library Science submitted time 2023-07-26 Cooperative journals: 《图书情报工作》

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] This research aims to summarize all studies on the factors of using intention in digital library, and provide some advice for the construction of digital libraries and the theoretical study of user behavior. [Method/process] By investigating the literature about digital library users' acceptance, adoption, and continuance intention, this paper concluded the theoretical models in current research, analyzed the influencing factors and the change rules of users' attitudes and behaviors during using digital library. [Result/conclusion] TAM is widely used in the study on digital library users' intention. Individual factors, system factors, contextual factors, and cognitive factors are the main factors influencing users' intention to use, but the specific processes and rules of these effects have not been resolved. So, the research results should be further discussed and improved from the aspects of influencing factors, research perspectives and research methods, and a representative theoretical model of intention of using in digital libraries should be presented.

  • Understanding Users' Purchase Behaviors on Information-Driven Decision-Making Sharing Service Platform——The Configuration Effect of Multi-Agent Generated Signals

Subjects: Library Science,Information Science >> Information Science submitted time 2023-04-01 Cooperative journals: 《图书情报工作》

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] This paper aims to explore the interactive impact of information generated by multiple entities on purchasing behaviors of resource demanders on the shared service platform, so as to facilitate the recovery and sustainable development of sharing economy in the post-epidemic era.[Method/process] Based on the signal theory, combining information features generated by multiple-agents, this paper constructed a configuration model of users' purchasing behaviors of information-oriented decision-making sharing service platform. Taking the sharing accommodation platform as an example, this paper used Python to crawl Chengdu's shared housing data on the Airbnb platform, and used the fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) to identify the configuration effect of information generated by multiple entities on users' purchasing behaviors.[Result/conclusion] The results show that there are three equivalent paths encouraging users' purchase behavior, and among which there is one necessary condition. There are also three combinations of information characteristics that discourage the purchasing behaviors of sharing platform users, and among which there is one necessary condition. The findings confirmed that the path leading to users' purchasing behaviors and the path of non-purchasing behaviors are not the opposite.
