  • Exact solutions for buckling and post-buckling of functionally grade graphene reinforced composite beams

    Abstract:
    In this paper,nonlinear buckling and post-buckling behaviors of functionally graded beams reinforced by graphene platelets(GPL)are studied by exact analytical method.It is assumed that GPL is uniformly distributed in each layer of the beam,and its weight fraction varies gradient along the thickness direction,which leads to continuous and gradient changes of the materials properties along the thickness.According to Halpin-Tsai mechanical model and mixing rate rule,the equivalent materials properties are obtained.Simultaneously,based on Euler Bernoulli beam theory and Von-Kármán nonlinear strain-displacement relationship,nonlinear governing equations of the graphene platelets reinforced functionally graded beam are obtained by energy variational method.And the analytical expressions of critical buckling loads,buckling modes and post-buckling deformations are obtained through exactly and analytically solve the nonlinear governing differential equations.The effects of the weight fraction,geometrical parameters and distributions of GPL on the nonlinear buckling and post-buckling of the composite beam are analyzed by parameters research.
