Abstract： A Neutron Time-Of-Flight (NTOF) spectrometer, based at the Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou (HIRFL) was developed for studies of neutron production of proton induced spallation reactions related to the ADS project. After the presentation of comparisons between calculated spallation neutron production double-differential cross sections and the available experimental data, a detailed description of the NTOF spectrometer is given. Test beam results show that the spectrometer works well and data analysis procedures are established. The comparisons of the test beam neutron spectra with those of GEANT4 simulations are presented.

Abstract： An improved method is proposed for the extraction of the symmetry energy coefficient relative to the temperature, asym/T, for the heavy-ion reactions near the Fermi energy region, based on the modified Fisher Model (MFM). This method is applied to the primary fragments of the Anti-symmetrized Molecular Dynamics (AMD) simulations for the reactions of 40Ca + 40Ca at 35 MeV/nucleon. The density and the temperature at the fragment formation stage are extracted using a self-consistent method.

Abstract： In order to improve aerodynamic performance and efficiency, monitoring the geometry and position information of the internal structure with the aero-engine under various operational statuses is an important task. In this paper, a novel design of industrial computed tomography (ICT) system with a linac as x-ray source is proposed to complete the task. The major advantage of the proposed system is that it can provide visualized images of internal structures of the running aero-engine without physical disturbance, which makes it possible to extract the accurate geometry information. The main idea behind this design is to measure the projection data from various views for reconstructions making use of the rotations of the aero-engine blades, instead of the mechanical rotations in the conventional ICT system. However, due to high speed rotation of the aero-engine blades, the system faces more challenges than conventional ICT systems both in data acquisitions and reconstruction algorithms. The challenges and corresponding solutions are presented in this paper. In conclusion, the proposed ICT system provides a powerful tool for monitoring the running aero-engines.
