Abstract: Gobi spans a large area of China, surpassing the combined expanse of mobile dunes and semi-fixed dunes. Its presence significantly influences the movement of sand and dust. However, the complex origins and diverse materials constituting the Gobi result in notable differences in saltation processes across various Gobi surfaces. It is challenging to describe these processes according to a uniform morphology. Therefore, it becomes imperative to articulate surface characteristics through parameters such as the three-dimensional (3D) size and shape of gravel. Collecting morphology information for Gobi gravels is essential for studying its genesis and sand saltation. To enhance the efficiency and information yield of gravel parameter measurements, this study conducted field experiments in the Gobi region across Dunhuang City, Guazhou County, and Yumen City (administrated by Jiuquan City), Gansu Province, China in March 2023. A research framework and methodology for measuring 3D parameters of gravel using point cloud were developed, alongside improved calculation formulas for 3D parameters including gravel grain size, volume, flatness, roundness, sphericity, and equivalent grain size. Leveraging multi-view geometry technology for 3D reconstruction allowed for establishing an optimal data acquisition scheme characterized by high point cloud reconstruction efficiency and clear quality. Additionally, the proposed methodology incorporated point cloud clustering, segmentation, and filtering techniques to isolate individual gravel point clouds. Advanced point cloud algorithms, including the Oriented Bounding Box (OBB), point cloud slicing method, and point cloud triangulation, were then deployed to calculate the 3D parameters of individual gravels. These systematic processes allow precise and detailed characterization of individual gravels. For gravel grain size and volume, the correlation coefficients between point cloud and manual measurements all exceeded 0.9000, confirming the feasibility of the proposed methodology for measuring 3D parameters of individual gravels. The proposed workflow yields accurate calculations of relevant parameters for Gobi gravels, providing essential data support for subsequent studies on Gobi environments.

Abstract: As the first pilot ecological civilization zone in China, Fujian Province has an excellent ecological environment quality, and its ecological environment-related indices continue to be among the highest in the country. In order to investigate the causes of the excellent ecological quality in Fujian Province in the past 15 years, this paper selects MODIS images, land use data and provincial and municipal statistical yearbook data of Fujian province from 2005 to 2020 as data sources, evaluates the ecological system health of Fujian Province by remote-sensing ecological index (i.e. RSEI), constructs the land use intensity system of Fujian Province at the same time, and uses a coupled coordination model to analyse the coupling between RSEI and The coupled coordination model was used to analyse the coupling relationship between RSEI and land use intensity, and finally the spatial and temporal evolution of ecological health in Fujian Province from 2005 to 2020 was analysed. The results show that the coupled coordination between land use intensity and ecosystem health in Fujian province showed a continuous increase between 2005 and 2020, especially in Ningde, where the increase was most significant, from 0.0993 to 0.963, this pattern of spatial distribution is lower in the south-eastern coastal region than in the north-western interior, higher in the south-western region than in the north-western region, and higher in the north-eastern region than in the south-eastern region. In terms of the type of role, the land use intensity of most cities in Fujian Province in 2005 played an obvious role in blocking the degree of ecosystem health, but as time changed, urban land use continued to be optimized and reached moderate or even high quality coordination with the quality of the ecological environment, but Xiamen City developed relatively slowly and its 2020 coupling degree value was 0.315, which was still in mild disorder. This study fills a gap in the research mechanism of the interaction between the degree of ecosystem health and land use intensity, and also provides a new perspective for the construction of ecological civilization and the assessment of the degree of ecosystem health in Fujian Province and the whole country.

Abstract: In the process of project implementation, data management is an important task. From the perspective of data managers, this paper takes data as the research object and data governance as the research core, discusses the scientific management of data, and builds a simple data governance model. This model includes six systems: security system, organization system, standards system, resource system, sharing system, and docking system. The model provides guidance for data governance of project data and South China Sea ocean data. The article briefly discusses security system, standards system, and resource system.

Abstract: The South China Sea is core interest of China. Since the 1950s, dozens of large-scale comprehensive marine scientific surveys of the South China Sea and its affiliated islands have been organized. Such as the comprehensive survey of the Xisha and Zhongsha Islands and their adjacent waters, and the comprehensive surveys of Nansha Islands and its adjacent waters. A large number of important raw data have been obtained. The “Reorganization of historical data from scientific investigations of the South China Sea and its affiliated islands and reefs” is collecting, rescuing, sorting out and reorganizing the historical data for more than 400 scientific investigations in the South China Sea since the 1950s. First realize the digitization of scientific investigations voyage data, Second, build a comprehensive database and geographic information system, Finally, it integrates 5-6 professional databases such as hydrometeorology, biological ecology, chemistry, fishery, geology, islands and reefs, 4-6 galleries, 1-2 episodes of visualization products, 3-5 research reports, and 6-8 series of monographs. Its data collection and standardized compilation are of great significance for promoting the open sharing of marine scientific data in the South China Sea, exerting the greatest value of data resources, and realizing the greatest benefits of national science and technology investment. This series of articles is divided into three parts. First part, it clarifies the specific content and implementation steps of the project data collection and standardized reorganization, and proposes corresponding practical strategies for technical difficulties. Second part,it explores the scientific management of data and build a simple data governance model. The last part, it discusses the design and construction of the comprehensive database and data sharing platform. It is hoped that the research and practice of this series of articles will provide technical and application references for the data collection and standardized compilation of the relevant data compilation project of the national scientific and technological basic resources survey.
