Abstract: Since 2023, with the Russian-Ukrainian war at a standstill, the term "frozen conflicts" has returned to the international mainstream media, and officials and think-tank experts from various countries have often talked about the "frozen conflicts." Although the reasons for the "frozen conflicts" are different, and the degree of Western involvement in each conflict is also different, in many cases Russia is the object of Western officials and scholars to blame. In fact, the concept of "frozen conflicts" is a "discourse trap" with inherent shortcomings. Faced with such concepts as "frozen conflicts", "Thucydides' trap" and "the tragedy of great power politics" put forward by the West, non-Western countries like China do not need to prove their innocence, but must keep a clear head and keep their own national interests in mind.
