  • Exploring differences between depression and bipolar disorder through the urinary proteome

    Abstract: How to differentiate the diagnosis of depression and bipolar disorder has always been an important problem that needs to be solved urgently in clinical practice. In this study, from the perspective of urine proteomics, urine samples of similar age were collected from two hospitals to investigate the candidate biomarkers for differentiating the diagnosis of depression and bipolar disorder using both group analysis and one-to-many analysis. The experimental results of the paired group analysis showed that 108 differential proteins were identified in the depressed group compared to the bipolar group under strict screening conditions with screening criteria of FC ≥ 2 or ≤ 0.5 and a two-tailed unpaired t-test of P < 0.01, with an average of 3.7 randomly generated differential proteins, and a confidence level of 96.6 % for the correlation between these proteins and the disease difference. In the one-to-many analysis, 24 differential proteins were co-identified by the samples of 13 depressed patients, 16 of which showed a completely consistent trend of expression changes in all depressed patients studied, and 6 of which were associated with immunoglobulins; 41 differential proteins were co-identified by the samples of 12 depressed patients out of 13, and 19 of which showed a completely consistent trend of expression change in the These results reflect the strong consistency of differential proteins between the two groups of patients. 12 or more samples from depressed patients were enriched for differential proteins related to multiple biological processes and signaling pathways associated with the immune system, which is consistent with previous studies: immune mechanisms may be one of the pathogenetic mechanisms of major depression and that drugs with major immune targets can improve depressive symptoms. In the future, it may be possible to observe the immune status of patients with depression to provide direction and basis for the precise treatment of depression. The results of this paper show that urine proteomics can differentiate between depression and bipolar disorder, suggest possible mechanisms and potential targets for the treatment of depression and bipolar disorder, and provide a tool for future differential diagnosis and precision treatment of the diseases.

  • Differences in motor cortex synaptic plasticity associated with two forms of exercise in older adults: Evidence from TMS studies

    Abstract: Although studies have found that exercise can lead to changes in the plasticity of the motor cortex, little is known about the changes in primary motor cortex synaptic plasticity associated with different forms of exercise among older adults. The purpose of this study was to compare the differences in motor cortex synaptic plasticity associated with a small hand muscle among older adults who regularly participated in table tennis or tai chi or who were sedentary.Based on inclusion/exclusion criteria and their answers to a self-reported questionnaire, 54 older adults (60~70 years) were selected who often participated in table tennis (n = 18) or tai chi (n = 18) exercise or who were sedentary (n = 18). The target muscle was the abductor pollicis brevis of the right hand. Motor cortex synaptic plasticity associated with the abductor pollicis brevis muscle was induced by a paired combination of peripheral nerve electrical stimulation and transcranial magnetic stimulation with an interval of 25 ms (PAS25). Single-pulse and double-pulse transcranial magnetic stimulation was applied to the left primary motor cortex to measure changes in motor evoked potentials (MEPs) and short-interval intracortical inhibition recorded in the abductor pollicis brevis muscle before and after PAS25, to compare the differences in primary motor cortex synaptic plasticity among the three groups.The results showed that mean MEP amplitudes immediately and 30 and 60 min after PAS25 in the table tennis group were significantly higher than those in sedentary group; mean MEP amplitudes immediately and 30 min after PAS25 in the tai chi group were significantly higher than those in the sedentary group; and mean MEP amplitudes immediately and 30 and 60 min after PAS25 in the table tennis group were significantly higher than those in the tai chi group. There were no differences in the short-interval intracortical inhibition at any time point after PAS25 among the three groups.These results indicated that regular participation in table tennis or tai chi can induce a sustained increase in primary motor cortex excitability in older adults and that there are differences in primary motor cortex synaptic plasticity in older adults associated with different forms of exercise. These results suggest that increased synaptic plasticity in the motor cortex may play an important role in the acquisition and promotion of motor skills during exercise in older adults.

These results suggest that increased synaptic plasticity in the motor cortex may play an important role in the acquisition and promotion of motor skills during exercise in older adults.
     

  • Preparation and Performance of Polypropylene Nanocomposites Toughened-Reinforced Synergetically with Functionalized Graphene and Elastomer

    Abstract: Using ethylenediamine functionalized graphene (GS-EDA) as nano-filler and maleic anhydride grafted polyolefin elastomer (POE- g- MAH) as toughening agent, the PP/POE-g- MAH/GS- EDA nanocomposites were prepared by melt blending method. The morphology and properties of nano-filler and the prepared nanocomposites were characterized in detail by means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscope (SEM), differential scanning calorimetric analysis (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), mechanical properties, thermal deformation temperature and melt flow rate tests. The results indicated that EDA was successfully grafted onto GS. The reactions between the GS-EDA and POE-g-MAH could improve effectively the interfacial compatibility of blending systems and the dispersion of GS- EDA in the matrix. The tensile strength, elastic modulus and impact strength of the nanocomposites with 0.5 mass% GS-EDA increased by 25.2%, 32.5% and 26.9% respectively in comparison with those of PP/POE-g-MAH without GS-EDA. The comprehensive mechanical performance could also be acquired for the PP/POE-g-MAH/GS-EDA nanocomposite with 0.5 mass% GSEDA. The crystalline temperature, melting temperature and the degree of crystalline of the PP/POE-g-MAH/GS-EDA composites increased due to the GS-EDA incorporation. The thermal stability of all the PP/POE-g-MAH/GS-EDA composites is improved, while the melt flow rate decreased gradually, with the addition of GS-EDA.

    Abstract: 观测技术及仪器的进步是推动太阳物理研究的重要手段,步进电机是各类观测仪器精密结构调整部件中经常采用的驱动源,步进电机控制系统的性能直接影响太阳望远镜的数据精度和时间分辨率。介绍了一套怀柔太阳观测基地自主研制的多轴步进电机控制系统。该系统以FPGA为核心控制器,利用中断处理机制及输入/输出寄存器产生多路TTL方波信号,结合驱动器实现多轴步进电机控制;通过周期信号化简处理算法缩短电机调整时间;以霍尔器件作为位置传感器实现系统闭环控制,通过对霍尔信号的软、硬件滤波处理,提高信号识别准确率;设计了板载存储电路,实时保存系统关键参数,大幅提高系统整体的可靠性。同时,该系统设计了丰富的IO接口、通讯接口,提高系统的可集成性。目前该系统已在多台太阳望远镜中投入使用。

  • 酸化剂与抗生素对黄羽肉鸡回肠黏膜菌群的影响

    Abstract:本试验旨在研究饲粮中长期添加酸化剂和亚剂量硫酸新霉素对黄羽肉鸡回肠黏膜菌群动态变化和组成的影响。选择800只1日龄健康岭南黄羽肉鸡,随机分为4个组,每组5个重复,每个重复40只鸡。对照组(A组)饲喂基础饲粮,B、C和D组饲粮分别在基础饲粮中添加0.2%酸化剂Ⅰ、0.3%酸化剂Ⅱ和50 mg/kg硫酸新霉素。试验期42 d。分别于1、7、14、21、28、35和42日龄时,采集肉鸡回肠黏膜并提取细菌DNA,采用聚合酶链式反应(PCR)−变性梯度凝胶电泳(DGGE)技术分析肉鸡回肠黏膜菌群结构,同时应用16S rDNA基因序列技术,建立42日龄肉鸡回肠黏膜细菌16S rDNA的随机克隆文库。动态变化趋势分析发现,4组肉鸡回肠黏膜菌群结构发生变化的程度不同,1~28日龄时4组的动态变化值分别为9%~33%、8%~90%、8%~56%和17%~45%。回肠黏膜细菌随机克隆文库分析发现,A组文库有94个序列,共产生16个OTUs(operational taxonomic units);B组有87个序列,共产生7个OTUs;C组有98个序列,共产生5个OTUs;D组有94个序列,共产生9个OTUs。A和D组乳酸杆菌属(Lactobacillus)所占克隆总数的比例分别为39.36%和50.00%,极显著高于B(6.90%)和C组(10.20%)(P<0.01);A组与其他各组其他菌属的种类与组成比例存在差异,且均未发现与埃希氏菌属(Escherichia)相关序列。由此可知,饲粮中长期添加酸化剂和亚剂量硫酸新霉素会使1~28日龄岭南黄羽肉鸡回肠黏膜菌群结构发生剧烈变化,42日龄肉鸡回肠黏膜菌群的多样性下降,乳酸杆菌属的组成发生改变,这种变化与差异可能是酸化剂与抗生素持续压力的影响所致。

  • 基于脑电信号的情感识别研究

    Abstract: The relationship between EEG and emotion recognition has attracted wide attention, however, the partial accuracy of emotion recognition is low. For improving the accuracy rate, after filtered the original EEG signal to 5 bands, this paper then extracted 4 features, the differential entropy, power spectral density, wavelet entropy and approximate entropy. Finally selected the features and used the support vector machine, k-nearest neighbor, naive Bayesian model and multi-layer perceptron for classification learning. The paper trained DE feature to get the higher accuracy with 4 different electrode placement methods by Support vector machine, moreover, the accuracy rate reach 91.99% of all EEG band energy in the case of 12 channels. What’s more, we get the average accuracies up to 97.59% with SVM that using genetic algorithm to acquire the optimization parameters.

  • Willis覆膜支架治疗颈内动脉血泡样动脉瘤的临床效果

    Abstract: Objective To evaluate the safety and short-term efficacy of Willis covered stent for treatment of blood blister-like aneurysms (BBA). Methods Eight patients with BBA were treated with Willis covered stent system during the period from December 2014 to February 2016. The guiding catheter was placed as high as possible to facilitate the delivery of the covered stent system. Results Nine covered stents were implanted in the aneurysms of 8 patients (8 aneurysms), and 8 stents were released successfully in the parent arteries. In 6 patients, angiography immediately after stent release showed complete disappearance of the aneurysm and the parent arteries remained patent. One patient experienced a minor endoleak after stent implantation, and another stent was implanted to eliminate the endoleak. Iatrogeniccarotid-cavernous fistula occurred in 1 patient due to tortuosity of the parent artery, for which superficial temporal artery-to-middle cerebral artery bypass combined with parent artery occlusion was performed instead; the patient recovered smoothly and the bypass remained patent at 6 months after the operation. No other periprocedural complications occurred in these patients. Follow-up study showed no new-onset neurological deficits in these 8 patients, who had mRS score of 0 in 6 patients and of 1 in 2 patients. Digital subtractive angiography at 6 months after the operation demonstrated no aneurysm in these patients, and only one patient showed mild stenosis in the parent artery. Conclusion Willis covered stents are effective for treatment of BBAwith good safety andshort-termoutcomes.

    Abstract:回顾总结了热力学与传热学共性理论基础研究的系列成果,从正视热力学第二定律、“熵产”理论在实际应用中存在的问题入手,以势能理论为依据,用相对环境平衡态的势能为基准态势能定义了能量中的有效能和无效能。这种定义具有与“?”相同的性质,又能从定义式直接写出有效能函数的表达式。继而利用热力学第一定律方程,推导出了普适的有效能方程、有效能率方程,并与熵方程、火积耗散方程和?方程进行了比较。前者方程各项都只与状态有关,都能独立计算出来,而后三个方程都有一项与不可逆过程有关的补缺项。把有效能率方程应用于传热过程,导出了传热效率的表达式;应用于实际热机系统,导出了传热与热力耦合系统的输出功率、输入热流率、效率、换热器传热系数以及热源参数之间的关系,并举例应用于系统优化设计。本文构建的热力学和传热学共性理论,为热机与换热器耦合进行热力系统综合分析和协调优化提供了理论基础。

    Abstract:Metal-intercalated iron selenides are a class of superconductors that have received much attention but less understood in comparison with their FeAs-based counterparts. Here, the controversial issues such as Fe vacancy, the real phase responsible for superconductivity and lattice stability have been addressed based on first-principles calculations. New insights on the distinct features in terms of carrier doping have been revealed.
