    Abstract: Representing the numerical value of symbolic fraction is central to the conceptual learning of symbolic fraction. The representation of symbolic fraction has been hypothesized to be built on non- symbolic magnitude representation (e.g., representing the magnitude of a set, or the proportion between two magnitudes) that exists since human early infancy. The supportive evidence includes that non-symbolic magnitude representation, especially the non-symbolic representation for the proportion between quantities, is correlated with the representation for symbolic fraction in behavioral and brain neural responses. However, further research is needed to determine the unique and causal relation between non-symbolic magnitude representation and symbolic fraction representation, and to clarify the specific cognitive mechanism underlying symbolic fraction representation.

  • Conservation status and prediction analysis of potential distribution of National Key Protected Wild Plants

    Abstract:

    Wild plants are an important part of the natural ecological system, and China is one of the countries with the most abundant wild plant species. It is of great significance to study the distribution characteristics, protection status and of potential distribution areas of National Key Protected Wild Plants for supporting and formulating biodiversity conservation strategies. In this study, we built an occurrence database containing 1 032 species (belonging to 315 genera, 129 families) of National Key Protected Wild Plants, then used the top 5% richness algorithm to identify hotspots and evaluate the conservation effectiveness and gaps of current nature reserves. Furthermore, we used maximum entropy (MaxEnt) model to predict the potential distribution and range shifts of National Key Protected Wild Plants. The results were as follows: (1) The areas with the highest species richness of the National Key Protected Wild Plants mainly confined to south and southwest of China, especially central Sichuan, southern and southeastern Yunnan, northern Guangxi, northern Guangdong and Hainan. (2) The conservation effectiveness of hotspot grid cells showed that 171 (85.50 %) hotspots are efficient protection (including 80.5 % of total species) and 29 hotspots (14.50 %) are not effectively protected (including 51.2 % of total species). (3) By comparing the potential distribution of National Key Protected Wild Plants under current and future climate scenarios, we found that potential distribution would expand to southeast of Xizang, southwestern Guangxi, southern Guangdong, and southern Fujian in the future, while those around Sichuan Basin, southern Yunnan and southern Guizhou would shrink. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the dynamic monitoring of biodiversity and pay continuous attention to the impact of climate change on National Key Protected Wild Plants in the region. Based on the analysis results of hotspot grids, conservation effectiveness and potential distribution areas identified in this study, strong data support and reference can be provided for the identification of national priority protected areas for National Key Protected Wild Plants diversity and the formulation of conservation policies.

  • 增殖细胞核抗原蛋白在Spodoptera frugiperda昆虫细胞中的表达及纯化

    Abstract:目的:利用昆虫细胞表达系统生产重组的人增殖细胞核抗原(Proliferating cell nuclear antigen, PCNA),并进行纯化和抗体结合特性鉴定。方法:以HeLa细胞逆转录的cDNA为模板,扩增人PCNA基因,并插入杆状病毒载体AcMNPV。利用昆虫细胞得到PCNA基因的重组杆状病毒。病毒感染细胞表达蛋白,联合镍柱亲和层析和离子交换层析获得高纯度的重组人PCNA蛋白。ELISA法测定抗体结合特异性。结果:以HeLa细胞cDNA为模板得到的基因序列同GenBank的人PCNA基因序列一致。草地贪夜蛾细胞(Spodoptera frugiperda, Sf9)表达重组人PCNA(Recombinant human PCNA, rPCNA)的最佳感染值(MOI)和感染时间分别为0.05和144 h。rPCNA的产量高达110 mg/L细胞,纯度> 95%。间接ELISA法检测抗体结合特性,rPCNA的敏感性和特异性分别为93.3%和85.0%。结论:建立了rPCNA的表达和纯化方法,获得了高效表达、高度抗体结合特异性的PCNA蛋白,该蛋白能进一步开发为PCNA相关疾病的体外诊断试剂盒,具较大的应用价值。

  • 非糖尿病人群腰臀比和慢性肾脏病的相关性

    Abstract: Objective To explore the relationship between waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) in non-diabetic subjects and compare the difference between male and female subjects. Methods We performed a cross-sectional survey among 2142 community-based southern Chinese participants without diabetes from June to October 2012. We divided all the participants into 4 groups according to the gender-specific quartiles of WHR. Logistic regression models were used to explore the associations of WHR with CKD in these subjects. Results In the unadjusted model, WHR was significantly associated with CKD in women (OR=7.29, 95% CI: 3.56-16.32, P<0.001), and the association was still significant (OR=6.13, 95% CI: 2.56-15.20, P=0.003 ) after adjustment for the potential confounders (including age, history of hypertension, coronary heart disease, current smoker, physical inactivity, education level, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, serum triglyceride, serum high density lipoprotein, blood glucose, and BMI). The odds ratio (OR) for having CKD in the highest versus lowest quartile of WHR levels was 2.44 (95% CI: 0.98-4.97, P=0.103) in men in the unadjusted model. Conclusion WHR levelsareassociatedwithCKDinnon-diabeticwomenbutnotinnon-diabeticmalesubjects.

  • 血清中IgA/C3比值在IgA肾病诊断预测中的价值及其与IgA肾病临床及病理联系

    Abstract: Objective To investigate the value of serum IgA/C3 ratio in the diagnosis of IgA nephropathy and explore its relationship with the clinicopathological features of the patients. Methods Sixty-six patients with IgA nephropathy, 111 with other glomerular diseases, and 40 healthy control subjects without kidney disease were tested for serum IgA and C3 levels using CRM470 adjusted standardized immune turbidimetric method, and the IgA/C3 ratio was calculated. According to Oxford and Lee's classification criteria, we analyzed the pathological grades of the renal biopsy samples from patients with IgA nephropathy. The ROC curve was used to assess the value of serum IgA and IgA/C3 ratio in predicting IgA nephropathy. Results Patients with IgA nephropathy had an elevated serum IgA/C3 ratio than those with other glomerular diseases and the control subjects, with an area under the ROC curve of 0.776. An elevated serum IgA/C3 ratio was not found to significantly correlate with the pathological grade of renal biopsy samples in patients with IgA nephropathy. Conclusion In the absence of renal biopsy findings, serum IgA/C3 ratio can help in the diagnosis of IgAnephropathy.
